I confess! I am a dinosaur. Not because of my age, but because that’s what people who refuse to grow according to society’s rules and habits are called. It’s not that I am against any new tools that are given to us for daily living, but… there are elements that my body refuses to incorporate. Like coke and many other chemical beverages for example. My daughter always laughs because of my habit of drinking… water. I am a huge fan of water – plain water. This has transformed me into a social dinosaur.
In the era when most people consume a significant range of beverages, the dinosaur in me prefers water. My days start with a glass of water, continues with several of them and when I go to sleep, I always have near my bed… you guessed it… a glass full of water.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, or maybe not… but even if I never used any facial creams or cosmetics, my skin still looks great after half a century spent on this planet.
Today my role is to be the water’s advocate. I admit that cold water is my favorite but, according to scientific studies, a glass of warm water, especially on an empty stomach, makes miracles possible in your life.
Therefore, join me in listing ten reasons to drink warm water and… don’t miss reading all the way to the end, for my final question to you:
10 Reasons to Drink Warm Water
-
1-2 glasses of water drunk right after waking up, helps your body eliminate the toxins and any other substance that your body doesn’t need. During the night, your organs recharge themselves and their cells are renewed. The water helps you eliminate these cells by increasing urination and thermogenesis processes.
-
Warm water stimulates your digestion. It also melts the fat deposits from your intestines, while cold water encourages their forming (especially if it is drunk before or right after the meal).
-
Not only are fat deposits eliminated but so is constipation. The bowel movements are stimulated by a glass of warm water helping the intestinal waste be removed in a very easy way.
-
Those who suffer from morning pains will be happy to notice the changes in their mood after starting to drink warm water in the mornings. Headaches and menstrual pains are the most common illnesses that disappear while this habit is formed.
-
Due to the calming effect of the warmth, the abdominal muscles start to relax, and this causes the disappearance of any cramps or muscular spasms.
-
By adding some slices of lemon to the warm water in the morning, you will also experience weight loss. Of course, I have a feeling that you already knew about this “secret” but… do you really apply it? It’s time to do it because being over 50, the weight seems to accumulate as quickly as a prince growing up in a fairy tale… in one single day where others take ten years.
-
A glass of warm water on an empty stomach will help you delay the aging process. The fact is that the main reason for your body aging is the presence of too many toxins in it. Drinking water, helps your body eliminate them. This is also ideal for repairing the skin’s cells and increasing their elasticity. If by chance at this age you still have acne problems, you’ll be surprised to find that soon it will finally be cured.
-
If for some reasons you suffer from a sore throat or nasal congestion, consuming warm water in the morning helps you reduce these symptoms. This is a hack well known by professional singers. Try it and who knows? Maybe you’ll start to sing, also. 🙂
-
If you have problems with your arterial tension, try drinking three glasses of water on an empty stomach for 30 days. If three glasses are too much for you, try it gradually. You will start noticing some of the described results after one week. After 30 days, continue drinking, at least, one glass on an empty stomach because your metabolism will soon be stabilized.

In the morning, the tongue’s taste buds are extremely loaded with toxins, which were released during the night. Unfortunately, we tend to wash our teeth with cold water. If you change this habit and instead of cold water you use warm water, you will soon notice improvements in your health level.
In 2004, The Food and Nutrition Board released the sixth in a series of reports presenting dietary reference values for the intake of nutrients by Americans and Canadians. According to them, “The vast majority of healthy people adequately meet their daily hydration needs by letting thirst be their guide. The report did not specify exact requirements for water, but set general recommendations for women at approximately 2.7 liters (91 ounces) of total water — from all beverages and foods — each day, and men an average of approximately 3.7 liters (125 ounces daily) of total water. The panel did not set an upper level for water.”
Still… it is not recommended to have an upper limit. If you listen to your body, you will know when you’ve reached your “enough is enough” moment. Regarding this subject, the Scientific American, a Division of Nature America, Inc. had published an interesting article. The conclusion is, “As long as you are healthy and equipped with a thirst barometer unimpaired by old age or mind-altering drugs, follow Verbalis’s advice, ‘drink to your thirst. It’s the best indicator.’”
Coincidentally (or not), today, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many places on Earth. Sincerely speaking, my amazing, gorgeous and tempting husband has already given me my valentine’s gift. 🙂
But even if near me I already have my other best half in the body of a man, according to my drinking habits, I am still categorized as a dinosaur; a healthy one for sure because of all of the above reasons. And I want to ask you… today, on this Valentine’s celebration… Will YOU be my dinosaur?
Don’t let this opportunity slip you by. You can change your life by subscribing to your Dino’s updates. 🙂
Thank you MC Simon: I always have water next to me throughout the day: I don’t drink soda for over 7 years now but I still love that morning coffee 🙁 I don’t know if I will ever give that up at my age:) Keep up the encouraging work 🙂
You’re welcome, Yvonne! I am also a proud coffee addict and don’t even think to give it up.
Don’t know if you already read one of my past articles about coffee. Just in case that you didn’t… here’s one link from the “Health” category: https://mcsimonwrites.com/finally-the-truth-about-coffee/
